A Reading at L’s Caffe (May 31st (Updated!)

L’s Caffe have been kind enough to sponsor a reading/fundraiser for Forum.

Reading will be crime novelist and teacher Seth Harwood and poets Nic Alea and Aimee Suzara and possibly others (watch for updates). There will also be the usual open mic, maybe a raffle and, excitingly, the latest issue of Forum will be out so you’ll have your first chance to see (and/or purchase) the latest batch of poetry, prose and art from the CCSF community.

Fundraiser for Forum (2/4/2012)

Tomorrow, Saturday, February 4 —

Join us for a night of live music, readings, and dancing as we celebrate our latest edition of Forum!

Magazines hot off the press will be available to purchase for $10 as well as raffled off throughout the night and contributors will each receive a free copy of the magazine. Well-known authors will read from their latest works before the mic is opened to the public to read poetry, sings songs, chant wisdom…anything, really!

There will also be an open mic and music from local band Rival Parties, DJs and as well as live jazz to kick off the evening. The event is also a fundraiser to benefit Forum*, a $7 donation is suggested but not mandatory. Things get underway at 6:00 pm at N.I.P. at 17th & Capp (Look for the wooden door that says “NIP;” Please enter/exit discreetly).

Hotel Utah Update/Correction

First a correction, the start time for the Hotel Utah fundraiser was incorrectly listed as 9 pm — the start time is actually 8:00 pm.

There will also be a raffle and an open mic, once again that is this Friday, 8 pm, a good time will be had by all.

So coming up very soon is a big event for Forum — we will once again be having a fundraiser for the magazine at the Hotel Utah Saloon featuring poets Sharon Doubiago, Louise Nayer, Alexandra Teague, novelist Seth Harwood and live music from Francesca Lee.

Fundraiser at Hotel Utah

Hello everyone. Forum is having a fundraiser at the Hotel Utah Saloon on October 11th. The show starts at eight and there will be a reading from the award winning poet Rusty Morrison, followed by live music from Francessa Lee, and an open mic. The cover is seven dollars and the proceeds will go toward Forum. Hotel Utah is located at 500 4th st, and the corner of 4th and Bryant.
